The band moved in an increasingly commercial direction through varying styles — from psychedelic, progressive and country rock to adult contemporary and pop rock - source

scenic route to alaska
Substance and accessibility are often considered opposing forces when it comes to pop music, making it all the more impressive when a band like Scenic Route to Alaska so effortlessly delivers ample doses of both.
the easygoing Edmonton-based trio, comprised of Trevor Mann on lead vocals and guitar, drummer Shea Connor, and bassist Murray Wood, effortlessly weaves catchy vocals and memorable melodies through rich arrangements – instantly engaging but begging to be heard again and again. It’s a coveted combination within the crowded sphere of indie rock – and one that’s rarely the product of anything but time, talent, and heaps of hard work. Of course, Scenic Route to Alaska are no strangers to any of those.
in early 2016, the band entered Monarch Studios in Vancouver with Howard Redekopp (Tegan & Sara, The New Pornographers) to cut the 11 tracks comprising Long Walk Home, their latest LP.
ZERBIN released their LP 'Darling' on April 14, 2015. Self-produced by the band (Jason Zerbin and Peter Mol) and mixed by Dave Pensado (Michael Jackson, Beyonce, Elton John), Tom Dobrzanski (Said the Whale, Hey Ocean!, We Are the City) and Jason himself, the album displays a fresh and infectious incarnation of symphonic alt-pop, a mixing of the band's Alberta roots and West-Coast home.
Recorded over the course of six weeks in a one hundred-year-old house on Vancouver Island, ZERBIN have created what feels like a true debut for the band. Straying from preset production avenues they drew on an assortment of vintage gear to create and capture the unique sonics of 'Darling'. This record is anthemic, symphonic and addictive with songs that capture your head and heart.
Darling's lead single 'Worlds on Fire' is packed with an undeniable indie-pop swagger. While telling a story of young lovers during the apocalypse, ZERBIN have managed to channel bands like Young the Giant and Vampire Weekend, enveloping it all in a foray of
swirling guitars and ZERBIN'S trademark anthems.
ZERBIN is best known for 2013's EP 'Touch' which secured them a number of EMAs and who's single 'New Earth' garnered a spot on alt-rock charts, going on to be chosen for a variety of international Film & TV spots. They have spent the past two years sha
ring stages with the likes of The Flaming Lips, Bruno Mars and Arcade Fire consistently winning hearts of both fans and industry folk with their sincere songs and captivating live performances.
A true preserver of the spirit of folk music, Maria Dunn is often compared to Woody Guthrie for her keen social awareness and her unvarnished songs about the lives of working men and women.
